INSULKOTE ™

GREAT FOR INNER DIAMETER OF CHROME PIPES !!

        Applications :

  • • Underside of intake manifolds
  • • Inner diameter of header tubes
  •  Exhaust tubing
  • • Chrome motorcycle pipes
  • • Exhaust heat shields

        Benifits :

  • • Superior corrosion properties
  • • Greatly reduces radiant heat
  • • Reduces discoloration on chrome pipes
  • • Increased heat scavenging
  • • Drastic cool down time on all metal  substrates

Insulkote coating is a great addition to your chrome or stainless motorcycle pipes. This coating is not for aesthetical purposes
but to add a superior thermal barrier protection for internal use on exhaust systems or anywhere that you want to reduce heat transfer. It can also be used as a shielding base coat under certain high temperature ceramic applications.

Insulkote was formulated to reduce heat transfer, offer long term protection against metal fatigue, corrosion and deterioration.  Insulkote also increases performance and horsepower by increasing heat scavenging during the exhaust cycle. When applied to the inner diameter of chrome motorcycle pipes, the bluing and discoloration commonly seen will be a thing of the past. Not only will this coating keep your pipes looking great, it will reduce the radiant heat up to 50%.

Due to the wetting ability and smooth finish of the coating, Insulkote  increases exhaust gas velocity while being able to withstand temperatures in excess of 1800ºF.

The preparation on the internal walls of  the pipes being coated is crucial to the adhereance of the coating. If the pipes are used, they go through a cleaning and power washing process to remove all carbon build up from inside the pipe. 2nd: if a pipe is chromed, we tape up and seal in plastic wrap to ensure the finish stays scratch free from the blasting media and handling. 3rd: we media blast with virgin 120 grit Aluminum Oxide to etch the interior metal for coating bond. The last step before curing in oven is to apply insulkote to inner of pipes by a" Sloshing Technique " followed  up by a final flow coat application gun.

There will be a 10.00 per pipe charge to black-out slash cut pipes(see pic)
